A Westminster school bus driver is facing a host of felony charges after arranging to meet an underage boy for sex in Evans this past month. The Weld District Attorney on Friday charged Phillip John Ogren, 66, with Internet sexual exploitation, Internet luring of and attempted sexual assault on. According to police reports, Ogren posted an ad on Craigslist soliciting sex.
An agent with the U. Department of Homeland Security came across the ad and began communicating with Ogren posing as a year old male, according to a release from the Weld District Attorney. They arranged a meeting in Evans.
Ogren was arrested when he arrived at the meeting site. At the time of his arrest, Ogren was employed as a school bus driver for Westminster Public Schools, the release stated.
He was immediately placed on leave with his district. He later reed.
